Fun Run Phoenix Park

After their appearance on The Den TV programme recently, five of our athletes took part in the Junior Great Ireland Run on 15th April in the Phoenix Park and, along with The Den Presenter, Catherine McKiernan, represented their Province -  Leinster.  This Junior run which was approximately 3 Km attracted over 400 runners, ranging from 8yrs to 15year olds.  Sonia O Sullivan was the official starter of the run.  She also joined in the atmosphere running the last 400mts with the children and crossed the finish line.  To complete the battle of the Provinces which began on The Den the previous week, Leinster were announced the winners of the challenge.  But the real winners of this most enjoyable day were Fun, Keep Fit and Run!  The junior club runners on the Leinster team were Rebekah Blair, Andrew Doyle, Claire Savage, Sarah Kavanagh and Eoghan Marah.  Some local adult athletes were spotted in the 10km run, namely Maria Belton and Michele Jameson, so well done to these ladies also!
