The 4th Athletics Wicklow Off-Road Championship, hosted by Glendalough A.C. as part of the annual Run the Ridge trail-running festival, concluded on Saturday amidst dramatic competition and scenic Wicklow mountain terrain. The event, featuring distances of 30 km, 20 km, 10 km, and a junior 3 km race, drew a diverse field of trail athletes from across the region.
In a fiercely competitive battle, Parnell A.C. emerged victorious in the annual Club Cup Trophy, narrowly edging out the hosts, Glendalough A.C.. Parnell secured 9 gold medals, surpassing Glendalough's 8 golds to claim the top spot.
The Off-Road Championship remains a highlight of the Wicklow athletics calendar, blending grassroots competition with challenging trail running. The tight margin between Parnell AC and Glendalough AC underscores the high calibre of participation and commitment across the clubs.
