Even Ages / U20 (Junior) / Novice Championships

The 2026 cross-country season kicks off this Sunday, 4th October at 10:00am with the Athletics Wicklow Even Ages, U20 (Junior) and Novice Championships.

Race Programme

• U07/U08: 500m – non-championship; team medals only

• U09/U10: 1000m – non-championship; team medals only

• U11/U12: 2000m

• U13/U14: 3000m

• U15/U16: 4000m

• U17/U18: 5000m

• U20 (U17/U18/U19/U20): 5000m

• Novice Women: 4000m

• Novice Men: 6000m

Important: Athletes in the U17 and U18 age groups must enter the U20 race separately if they wish to score in the U20 Championship.

Additional Information

• Car parking: €4 per car, card payments only. Delays may occur at the barrier, so please allow extra time for arrival.

• Course map: See attached map below.

• Tiny Tots Race: Takes place before the main programme. No pre-entry is required.

• Race order: Girls' race followed by boys' race in each age category.

• Café: Open from 9:30am.

• Rusborough is open to the general public, so we ask everyone to be mindful of other visitors and to follow the following guidelines:

• Athletes must be supervised at all times.

• Athletes should warm up only in the designated area shown on the course map.

• All clubs are asked to provide two volunteers to assist with general marshalling duties , volunteers should report to the Athletics Wicklow tent by 9:30am.

• Bib numbers: Please remind athletes to retain the bibs issued this weekend. These should be kept for use throughout the 2026/2027 Cross-Country and Track & Field season, as outlined in the Athletics Wicklow Cross-Country 2026/2027 News Report HERE
