The 2026 Athletics Wicklow Outdoor Championships at Shoreline Sports Park, Greystones, produced a host of memorable performances as athletes from across the county competed for county honours. From powerful throws to spectacular jumps and lightning-fast sprinting, several athletes produced performances that stood above the rest.

Leading the way was Chloe Hanley of Greystones & District, whose winning throw of 34.54m in the Girls U20 Hammer was the longest throw recorded at the championships. It was a performance that demonstrated both power and consistency and marked her out as one of the field-event stars of the meeting.

Another athlete to make a significant impact was Joseph Langrell of Tomnafinnogue, who dominated the Boys U15 Javelin with a championship-best throw of 31.71m. His winning mark was comfortably the longest javelin throw recorded across all age categories.

In the jumps, Feidhlim Harvey of Bray Runners delivered one of the standout performances of the entire championships. The Boys U16 athlete cleared 1.60m in the High Jump, the highest clearance achieved by any competitor during the four-day event and a mark that drew admiration from athletes and spectators alike.

The longest leap in the Long Jump pit came from Max Beer-Sanchez of Greystones & District, who landed at 5.03m to capture the Boys U15 title. His jump was the only effort to break the five-metre barrier and was among the most impressive technical performances of the championships.

On the track, Justin Ivanets of Kilcoole proved to be the fastest sprinter of the championships. His winning time of 11.7 seconds in the Boys U19 sprint was the quickest recorded over the sprint distances and capped a superb performance.

Combined events always provide a measure of an athlete's versatility, and Niamh Graham of Bray Runners excelled in the Girls U14 competition. Her tally of 2,301 points was the highest combined-events score achieved at the championships and reflected outstanding performances across multiple disciplines.

Another athlete who impressed across a range of events was Aoife Brock of Roundwood & District. She captured the Girls U16 Combined Events title with 1,875 points, demonstrating her all-round ability in hurdles, jumping, throwing and middle-distance running.

Derren O'Gara of Inbhear Dee produced one of the best performances by a younger athlete, throwing 20.89m to win the Boys U13 Javelin and establishing himself as one of the county's emerging talents in the event.

Sprint honours among the girls went to Holly Johnston of Lakeshore Striders, whose victory in the Girls U16 100m in 13.0 seconds confirmed her position among Wicklow's leading young sprinters.

Rounding out the top ten was Jack Byrne of Kilcoole, whose winning effort of 15.80m in the Boys U12 Turbo Javelin was the longest throw recorded in that discipline throughout the championships.
