The Wicklow Invitational Athletics is a series of sporting events designed to promote athletics for young people across County Wicklow.

 

Hosted by Athletics Wicklow, the programme welcomes primary school children (from 3rd class upwards) and post-primary students to take part in a variety of competitions.

THE EVENTS

The invitational includes five key events held during the school year

​

Cross Country Relays – 23rd September 2025 – A fun and competitive team event.

Cross Country – 21st October 2025 – The classic endurance test over natural terrain.

Trail Run – 18th November 2025 – A scenic challenge through woodland trails.

Mile Challenge – 10th March 2026 – A fast-paced race over the iconic mile distance.

Track & Field Meet – May 2026 –  featuring sprints, middle distance, jumps, and throws.

 

📍 EVENT VENUES 📍

Avondale Forest Park – Venue for the Cross Country Relays, Cross Country, Trail Run, and Mile Challenge.

Shoreline Sports Park, Greystones – Venue for the annual Track & Field Meet in May.

WHO CAN TAKE PART

Entry to Wicklow Invitational Athletics is organised through the Primary & Post-Primary Schools throughout Co. Wicklow.
