The Athletics Wicklow Juvenile League 2025–26 concluded in style at The Track in Arklow, as Round 5 brought the season to a close and confirmed the final club standings after weeks of competitive action.
Young athletes from across the county competed in a full programme of sprint and middle-distance events, from Under-8 through to Under-18, with the final round proving decisive in shaping the overall league table.
Medal System Rewards Season-Long Commitment
A defining feature of the Wicklow Juvenile League is its emphasis on participation across the full series. Medals are awarded based on the number of rounds completed:
Gold medals for athletes who competed in all five rounds
Silver medals for those who competed in four rounds
Bronze medals for participation in three rounds
This system ensures that consistency and commitment throughout the season are recognised alongside race-day performance, with the final medal list reflecting athletes’ dedication across all five rounds.
Girls’ Events Close Out a Competitive Series
The final round opened with the Under-8 150m, where Caoimhe Mulligan (Roundwood & District) secured victory ahead of Esme Kelly (Lakeshore Striders) and Chloe O’Toole (Parnell).
In the Under-10 300m, multiple heats once again demonstrated the depth of talent, with wins for Nancy Moran (Lakeshore Striders), Bekaa Dorney (Greystones & District), and Abigail Small (Kilcoole).
The Under-12 500m races saw Kornelia Naroznik (St Benedict Inbhear Mór), Myá Mlisana (Kilcoole), and Jessica Place (Bray Runners) take top honours, while Ciara Fay (Kilcoole) won the Under-14 600m.
In the older age groups, Liadh Fitzmaurice (Roundwood & District) claimed victory in the Under-16 800m, and Layla Marie Dixon (Parnell) finished the season strongly with a win in the Under-18 event.
Boys Deliver Strong Final Round Performances
In the boys’ Under-8 150m, Matthew Small (Kilcoole) led the field, with Kade Egan (Lakeshore Striders) and Conor O’Toole (Aughrim) completing the podium.
The Under-10 300m races were won by Tommy Hill (St Benedict Inbhear Mór) and Noah Eager (Lakeshore Striders), while the Under-12 500m produced victories for James Doyle (Greystones & District) and Joshua Eager (Lakeshore Striders).
Riley Fox (Lakeshore Striders) impressed in the Under-14 600m, while Eoghán O’Reilly (St Benedict Inbhear Mór) and Jude Connolly (Lakeshore Striders) secured wins in the Under-16 and Under-18 800m races respectively.
Final Club Standings Confirmed
With Round 5 marking the conclusion of the league, the final club standings have now been confirmed. Lakeshore Striders emerged as overall winners following consistent performances across all rounds.
St Benedict Inbhear Mór finished second, with Kilcoole securing third place after a strong showing throughout the series. Greystones & District and Inbhear Dee completed the top five.
Further down the table, Parnell, Aughrim, Roundwood & District, Bray Runners, and Tomnafinnogue all contributed valuable performances, underlining the broad strength of athletics across the county.

The conclusion of Round 5 marks the end of another successful Juvenile League season, with high participation levels and competitive racing across every age group.
